With over 23 years of experience in archaeology in education and heritage education, I have extensive experience of planning and delivering education and outreach programmes. I have written and delivered successful Heritage Lottery Fund Activity Plans and developed education, outreach and events strategies. Resource Development 

With an extensive understanding of the National Curriculum and the range of creative approaches used to deliver the curriculum, I am well placed to develop new resources to support schools using your museum or heritage site. An example created for Historic England  example can be seen here

Evaluation

An experienced evaluator, familiar with NLHF requirements, I have recently evaluated projects and programmes for the London Transport Museum,  Essex County Council Cultural Development team, Museum Development East Midlands and two NLHF projects- Mercury Voices and Resorting to the Coast. Education, outreach and events for archaeological excavations

Developers often want the positive side of their developments to be understood and a sound strategy looking at the educational and public outreach potential of excavations ahead of building work supports this. I am able to put together a programme of work with schools, public events and outreach projects which can be delivered by your staff, by me or a combination of both.

Staff and volunteer training 

I can come to your organisation to train staff and volunteers in delivery to schools, children and family groups. It will also benefit all staff and volunteers who come in contact with school groups to understand how schools work and what teachers look for in a successful school visit.
